Caring Kind Award

On October 24, 2014 the Nebraska Hospital Association honored healthcare staff across the state as Caring Kind Employees.  In front of more than 525 friends and colleagues, Dr. Jonathan Richman, M.D. accepted the award at the 35th Anniversary of the Caring Kind Luncheon held at the Cornhusker Hotel, in Lincoln, NE.

Physicians who enter into rural medicine learn to always expect the unexpected and that is what Dr. Jonathan Richman has been doing for---years at Chase County Community Hospital.  His calming presence puts staff at ease when he is on duty.  From welcoming a newborn into our facility, managing a critical trauma or emergency, to caring for those at the end of life he devotes his expertise.  As the only full time doctor at our facility, his knowledge is relied on 24 hours a day, seven days a week by mid-level providers as well as nursing and ancillary staff. His dedication for service and the community makes him an excellent recipient for this award.  Dr. Richman is an active member of the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department and dive/rescue team and works with high school students on SCUBA training. He bestows his leadership and confidence to visiting medical students to ensure they have the best rural medical experience possible. He is the medical director for the Chase County EMS teams, hospital and nursing home, and the Chief of Staff at Chase County Community Hospital.  Thank you Dr. Richman for the compassionate care that you deliver to our community and the guidance lent to all of our staff at Chase County Community Hospital.
