The Nursing Supervisor manages the daily clinical operations and functions as a liaison between
Nursing staff members, Providers and Chief Nursing Officer. In collaboration with the Chief
Nursing Officer, plans and implements the services of the Chase County Clinic and is
responsible for the scheduling, staffing and operation for the clinical area.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

1. Assists the provider in delivery of patient care, works with providers to resolve all
emergent patient or clinical issues in a timely manner
2. Oversees the day-to-day operation in the nursing area
3. Works in the clinic as needed, performs wellness visits
4. Promptly informs nursing staff of policy or procedure changes along with any other
issues that might affect their work routine
5. Conducts nursing meetings as needed
6. Assists the Medical Clinic Director in planning typical demands, coordinates flu clinics
7. Ensures compliance with CCC policy by complying with annual employee flu shots,
CPR renewals and licensing
8. Responsible for ordering and maintain proper inventory levels for nursing area
9. Ensures practice is compliant with RHC regulations
10. Ensures safety guideline are followed
11. Ensures biohazard and OSHA guidelines are followed
12. Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulation and patient confidentially
13. Responsible for communicating sensitive, critical information to patients
14. Ensures appropriate orientation of new employees and on-going training and
development for nursing staff
15. Develops schedule for nursing staff; ensures adequate staffing by managing employee
time off request
16. Participates in hiring process for nursing positions
17. Proactive in nursing mentoring, coaching, and discipline
18. Ensures policy and procedures are current and consistent with State, Federal and Facility
rules and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position if responsible for the supervision of LPNs, RNs, Medication Aides, Ward clerks or
other non-licensed staff providing or assisting in patient care activities; the delegation of nursing
interventions; and the direction, monitoring and supervision of Medication Aides.

Work Environment

Primarily performed in well-illuminated, climate-controlled, indoor, smoke-free environment
within the facilities of The Chase County Clinic. Risk of exposure to infectious and/or
communicable diseases. Position requires tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids,
and/or tissue. Risk of personal injury/ /puncture wounds from vaccines, injections, lab
procedures, etc.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is
continuously required to walk, sit and stand; occasionally climb or balance. The employee must
frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or carry and or
push or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability
to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position primarily Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Work
demand may require alternative and/or additional working hours based upon departmental needs.


Will be required to travel to other facilities within the organization in order to attend work,
meeting, and training.

Required Education and Experience

1. Graduate of RN program. Nebraska RN license.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. At least (5) years previous healthcare experience, demonstrated leadership abilities,
strong customer service and communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements

1. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
2. Working knowledge of medical terminology
3. Good phone skills; Excellent Customer Service
4. Demonstrates good organizational skills in the preparation of daily work schedules and
5. Knowledge of basic computer applications
6. Ability to effectively work with physicians, subordinates, customers and other
CCCH/CCC personnel
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
8. Ability to work in customer served oriented environment
9. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret/incorporate organization policies, procedures
10. Ability to maintain professional conduct in emergency situations
