Status: Fulltime (36 hrs week)
Schedule: M-F w/rotating Sat am


Application of professional nursing skills in an outpatient clinic setting. Performs patient care activities
for patients of diverse ages and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Knowledge, awareness and the practice of Chase County Hospital and Clinic’s Safety, Quality, Behavioral Standards and Corporate Compliance Plan. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists with assessment by collection of basic data for patients in the clinic or on the phone.
Documents basic assessment and care/instructions/education given.
Reports results and pertinent information to patients and physician.
Evaluates understanding of treatment plan and/or instruction.
Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned.
Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures, and medications administered.
Is responsible for instrument and equipment maintenance, identifying problems and coordination of appropriate repairs.
Assists physician as needed.
Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others.
Review policy and procedure manuals annually, and assists with policy revision as assigned by supervisor.
Attend 80% of all department meetings.
Completes annual organization training and nursing education.
Performs miscellaneous office duties such as filing and/or retrieving medical records.
Operates various office machines such as fax, copier, computer.
Maintains inventory of supplies and stocking various areas. Checks for and removes outdated supplies.
Assists and/or directs patients to various departments.
Audits nursing charts.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Database software.

Certificates and Licenses

Current Nebraska Licensed Practice Nurse certification.
