Oct 12th - 2024 All Cancers Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser

Saturday, October 12, 2024 @ Campbell Park Courts: 520 W 6th St, Imperial

Registration at 8:00 am, Honorary Walk at 8:30 am and Tournament begins at 9:00 am.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds that are used to provide support for individuals from Chase County as well as patients who are treated here at the Chase County Community Hospital & Clinics. This financial support helps offset costs for patients who are receiving cancer treatments along with those who obtain prevention & detection services.

It is also an opportunity to recognize local cancer survivors and to honor our loved ones who have lost their battles to cancer.

This year’s event is “Pickleball” which is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It's played with a perforated plastic ball and paddles on a court that's about a quarter of the size of a tennis court.

Pickleball’s popularity has been growing in recent years for several reasons, including:
1. It is easy for practically anyone to learn how to play.
2. It is a Social Activity: because a pickleball court is smaller than a tennis court, gameplay allows players to be close enough to one another that they can hold conversations.
3. It provides great exercise for your mind and body.

There will be a Novice/Beginner Division and an Advanced Division for those who have played before so regardless of your experience, this will be a great event in which to participate.
