Coffee Coin Rec - Kay Schmidt LPN

Kay Schmidt was recently nominated to receive a Coffee Coin by Abby Cyboron the CEO of CCCH.

Kay has been the predominate force behind the enormous success of our COVID-19 Vaccination program! To this point, CCCH, in partnership with the Southwestern Nebraska Public Health Department, has been able to administer more than 600 - 1st doses of the Vaccine. In addition to handling her regular duties as the Quality Improvement Coordinator - Infection Preventionist Nurse, she has taken on the additional responsibilities of:
1) Coordinating with SWNPHD to manage the transfers of vaccines, reporting back to them with status updates and attending routine briefings.
2) Fielding all incoming calls, screening patients & setting the appointments from the list that she has been maintaining since the program started back in December.
3) Organizing all aspects within our facility to handle the extra 100 recipients (within a 4-hour timeframe) in a fast and efficient manner. This encompasses: reserving the space, preparing the patient paperwork, organizing all the volunteers needed to administer the vaccine, enter patient information afterwards and following up to set each patient’s 2nd dose appointment.
4) Handling whatever additional needs have come up to make sure that patients are getting vaccinated as efficiently as possible.

This has been a challenge and Kay has really shined throughout the process. Congratulations on the award Kay and THANK YOU for your hard work, focus and dedication!
