2021 Fall Health Fair Draws

Fall is here and once again Chase County Community Hospital and Clinics are reminding you of the importance of good health.  To promote good health, the Hospital Laboratory will be doing blood draws on Monday, October 25th, and Tuesday, October 26th, in Imperial, and Friday, October 29th, in Wauneta.

We would also like to emphasize the importance of good health in our children and/or grandchildren.  Many health issues may start in childhood or in adolescent years.  Laboratory results along with a consultation with your healthcare provider can detect issues early.  The laboratory cost for children under the age of 18 will be reduced by 50%.

One copy of the results for each health fair participant will be mailed the week of November 1.  Results will also be available on the Patient Portal on the Chase County Community Hospital’s website.  Following the receipt of your lab results, you may schedule a consultation with your provider of choice to review the results.

This is a great time to receive low-cost screening tests.  The cost will be $75 for the general health profile, which includes tests for cholesterol, diabetes, anemia, thyroid disorders, liver, and kidney disease.  In addition to the general screen for diabetes, we also offer Glycohemoglobin (HA1c) for $25.  The HA1c test can help your provider determine your risk of developing problems from diabetes, such as kidney failure, vision problems, and leg or foot numbness. The lower your HA1c level, the lower your chance for problems.  For an additional $25, men can have the PSA test to check for prostate cancer.  Vitamin D testing is also offered for $60.  Vitamin D is essential for strong bones, and a lack of it can cause health problems, including cardiovascular disease.  If you would like to know your blood type, the test is available for $25.

A new feature this fall is the Covid-19 antibody test to determine the immune status to the COVID-19 virus.  The cost of the test is $50.00.

We will be drawing specimens in Imperial at the Chase County Community Hospital’s Surgery Waiting Room from 6:30 to 9:30 on October 25th and 26th.  On October 29th, we will be in Wauneta at the clinic from 6:30 – 9:30 am.  Please call (308) 882-8183 to schedule your appointments.

Remember, you must be fasting (no food or drink, EXCEPT water) for 12-14 hours prior to your blood draw.   You may also take your prescribed medications with water.
