Beware of Scam Calls
Scam calls related to health insurance to local residents/patients on the rise.
Here are some tips for avoiding scammers:
1) Don't Answer Unknown Numbers: Scammers often spoof phone numbers to make them appear legitimate, so be wary of calls from numbers you don't recognize.
2) Don't Provide Information: Never share personal or financial information (like Social Security numbers, bank account details, or credit card information) unless you initiated the call and are certain of the caller's identity.
3) Be Suspicious of Pressure: If a caller is pressuring you to make a quick decision or provide information immediately, it's a strong sign of a scam.
4) Don't Trust Generic Organizations: Be wary of callers representing generic sounding organizations or those that don't bother to identify their organization.
5) Don't Trust Calls That Claim to Know You: If a caller claims to know you but doesn't know your name, or if they claim to represent a pre-existing relationship but can't verify it, it's likely a scam.
